Educational reconstruction article

I came across this booklet on educational reconstruction in Rwanda. It's a really rich document with background info on education pre and post genocide and the process of reconstruction. There are surveys of children and teachers about their experiences. I highly recommend taking a look at it!

I am testing my blogging skills. My first idea to start before I leave is to ask my upcoming class to write letters to students we could potentially visit. I hope to come back with responses and a great way to open our expedition. E.

New History Curriculum

It concerns a new curriculum developed by Rwandan teachers (with the support of UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Educationon) on how to teach about the Genocide. There is a link to the curriculum itself with sample lesson plans.
